Tortoise cooked with tangerine peel, apricot, fritillary bulb

Effect:

Nourishing Yin and clearing pathogenic heat, eliminating sputum and relieve cough.

 

Ingredient:

Tangerine peel 15g, southern apricot 50g, northern apricot 7.5 g, fritillary bulb 25 g, tortoise 1, a little salt and oil.

 

Process:

1. Soak the tangerine peel until soft, eliminate the pulp; wash the fritillary bulb and apricot with clean water.

2. You can get a tortoise on the market. Get rid of its shell, intestines and internal organs, cut it into small pieces and clean it with water. Then put it into a hot pan with oil and quick fry it into yellow brown with good smell. After that, get it out and wash away the oil away with clean water.

3. Put the processed tortoise, tangerine peel, apricot and fritillary bulb into a pot, add a proper amount of water. Boil them on strong fire, and then simmer them with slow fire. After that, add some salt according to you taste. Now, the decoction is ready to be served.

 

Nature of Ingredients:

1. Tangerine peel has a bitter and pungent flavor and a mild nature. Effect: regulating flow of Qi, improving the function of stomach, eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm. Indications: abdominal distension, vomiting, hiccup, cough and profuse sputum.

2. Southern and northern apricots have a bitter flavor and a mild nature. They have a little toxic effect. Effect: relieving cough and asthma, moistening the intestines to relax the bowels. Indications: various coughs and dyspneas, constipation due to dryness syndrome of intestines.

3. Fritillary bulb has a sweet and bitter flavor and a neutral nature. Effect: clearing away heat and moistening lungs, resolving the phlegm and stopping cough. Indications: cough due to the dryness syndrome of lungs, chronic cough and dyspnea with phlegm and blood, pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis.

4. The tortoise has a salty flavor and a cold nature. Effect: nourishing Yin and suppress excessive Yang, bind dissipating and swell dispersing. Indications: weakness after a serious disease, poor appetite, chronic cough, tuberculosis, anemic, palpitation, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis.

 

Note:

1. Both southern and northern apricot has a little toxic effect and should not be used excessively.

2. Fritillary bulb usually refers to Sichuan fritillary bulb.
